Hey guyz..it's been awhile since my last post. Lately I've been living in Newcastle for my graduate studies and didn't have much time for blogging (I know...shame on me)! :)
Tonight I've been to Definitely, Maybe and how should I put it...it was ok but full of romantic comedy 'cliché' moments. So they made the movie very predictable. Though it was fun to see Ryan Reynolds and his endless energy for comedies with his dead-on remarks after such a long time. He was like the settled down version of Berg character from his debut series Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. BUT (yeah..a big 'but') I'm totally ignoring his previous movie, The Nines, because it was too much for me (too much pointlessness, too much Christian messages that a person without a Christian background couldn't get, too much of everything). Anyways, back to the movie on hand, Definitely, Maybe.
It's about a man, named William Hayes, telling his daughter (played by Abigail Breslin) the story of how him and her mother met, with some twists in the story. He's not giving her the true names of his 3 serious girlfriends and making her guess which one is her mother. Those 3 girlfriends are played by Elizabeth Banks, Isla Fisher and Rachel Weisz.
Isla Fisher again shined on the screen with her bright smile and her 'the-girl-next-door' attitude. Though she tried to be that independent, 'I'm going to travel the world' kinda girl, her simplicity and trueness was still evident. There's nothing much to say for Elizabeth Banks, because she wasn't either giving or taking anything from the movie. She was just like a typical romantic comedy character and she did her job ok. On the other hand, with her great assets for acting I thought Rachel Weisz would steal the movie. But don't get your hopes up. She's just like another typical romantic comedy girl and when she's on screen with Reynolds, you can see that they are not made for each other. There was something 'off' with their chemistry.
The biggest surprise for me was Kevin Kline!!! Yeah..maybe you're not gonna believe me but he's in this movie. I haven't noticed him in the theatrical trailer and when I just double-checked it again, there's no sign of him, but wow...he totally steals the movie! He is the 'big asset' of this movie. I don't wanna be unfair to others actors and actresses but you should 'definitely' see his scenes. :)

When I go back to the movie in my head and think about the soundtrack...it was good but after I searched on the Internet, soundtrack listing is not exactly matching the movie. I mean, I would've expected at least one Nirvana song, after that much Nirvana (and Kurt Cobain) references done in the movie. Or the song that Rachel Weisz sings in the movie, with her version of course. I mean if it was her who sang in the movie. :) There are two soundtrack albums for this movie. One is the original motion picture score, all musics done by Clint Mansell, and the other one is motion picture soundtrack with various artists. Here is the soundtrack listing if someone's interested:

Stand - REM
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots - The Flaming Lips

So, what do you think after this review? You'll see the movie..definitely? Maybe? Don't worry..you'll have a fun time at the cinema with Reynolds' endless charm (because he's so handsome that he's not even aging a little for 15 years). Wow..that's a long time and I totally want his anti-aging creme when I turn 30. :) Anyways, if you're gonna go see this movie, go with your girl and enjoy, or if you're gonna wait for DVD-rental, enjoy more!!!
See you next time...
